Allergy-Friendly Apple Cinnamon & Raisin Muffins

I just don't think you can go wrong with the combination of apples, cinnamon and raisins. In fact, if you are baking egg-free sweet breads, cakes and muffins, apples are one of your best culinary friends. They help to bind and add texture and flavor that is not too overpowering (you could use an extra pinch of cinnamon if you wanted more of a kick) and create a light springy texture.

Allergy-friendly fruit mince pies

For those of you who are not familiar with fruit mince pies, they are part of the Christmas tradition in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. In the spirit of "quick and easy" I have blended together a fruit mixture that is ready in five minutes. I kept the blend very subtle, but feel free to add the spice quantities that tickle your fancy and make your taste buds dance.

Easy 5 Minute Allergy Friendly Tea Cake

If you have been searching for the easiest fruit cake recipe on the planet – search no longer. I have found it! I clipped this recipe from a magazine about 10 years ago, and stupidly never made it. But fate intervened, championing this recipe’s potential, as it fell out of my ancient recipe file while I was desperately searching for my grandmother’s cinnamon smoothie milk shake recipe.

Brown Rice Banana Smoothie

I made this brown rice milk smoothie and it was nothing short of spectacular. OK – so it will be affectionately reserved for the “I don’t care about carb overload” trough for future emotional emergencies. But hey – I might just have to pull it out in times of celebration too! It is really that good. Rich, thick, creamy, and delicious. I don’t know what more I can say, except blend this up now!

Raw Chocolate Fruit Balls

My mum and I make these raw fruit balls all the time and they are absolutely delicious. We use raw almonds, cashews and macadamias as our nutty blend. But you could use any nuts that tickle your festive fancy. Just know that each nut mix will yield a treat of a different personality. Roll out these vegan treats.

Raw Coconut Date Shake

This shake is absolutely scrumptious! Throw some dates in the blender with some bananas, almond milk and coconut water, and prepare for pure heaven. You can substitute cashew milk if you want a richer, more buttery shake, and you could always add a spoonful of coconut butter and lecithin to make it even more creamy. It depends on how indulgent you want your date to be!

Apple Pie Smoothie

This is my vegan, gluten-free “apple pie in a glass”. I don’t really know how to do this smoothie justice, except to say that it is absolutely scrumdidiliumptious! This smoothie is absolutely fantastic! This blend captures everything I love about a great piece of apple pie – the creamy, buttery apples with just a hint of sweetness, and cinnamon.

Raw Kale Chips

For those of you not familiar with kale chips – welcome to vegan nirvana. Raw foodists, vegans, health nuts, or those in “the green know” chow down happily on a handful of fresh kale chips as a green, nutritious alternative to conventional potato chips.

Maple Glazed Pralines

Our first taste of these sweet chewy delights came on top of a rich, creamy Pumpkin Praline Cheesecake. Word of warning: although the recipe yields a stunning 2 cups, you will have a difficult time keeping these around as long as the cheesecake; they are wickedly delicious snacks that will sing your name invitingly...

Spicy Seven Layer Dip

This was a family favorite for years (recipe given to be my my mother). I whipped up this vegan version and place alongside hers. Yum!
